I was born and raised in Newton, KS. I am the oldest of three and have the most supportive family that anyone could ever ask for. I always knew I wanted to have a career in medicine and help a lot of people but just how that all would come together I could never have guessed.

I graduated from Newton High School in 2008, at the age of 17, and was top 10% of my graduating class. I then decided to go to Bethel College (KS) to pursue a degree that would further my dreams of serving others through medicine. While at Bethel I competed for the volleyball and track teams continuing on my lifelong love of playing sports. It was at this time that I thought I would go to medical school but when it came time to take the MCAT and apply…it just was not in my heart. I knew I still wanted to help people but needed to find the right pathway for me.

It was at this time that I shadowed many occupations and one afternoon shadowed a local Newton Chiropractor and saw just exactly what Chiropractic even was. Our family had gone to Chiropractors for a frozen neck or bad back a handful of times in my life but I was never the patient and never even went to the appointments with family. I watched this wonderful woman Chiropractor work on a handful of patients. She knew their symptomatic problems, she knew how to help them, she knew about them and their loved ones and their lives…and she was a doctor that was able to help people, sometimes instantaneously through a non-invasive, hands on, physical means of allowing the body to heal itself. From that point, she knew that he would become a Chiropractor in Lawrence to help others.

Right then and there without ever being adjusted myself, I decided to go to Chiropractic school. I received my first ever adjustment at the age of 21 in the student clinic at Cleveland Chiropractic College and this wonderful student intern started to help my headaches disappear. I then received Chiropractic care when I was pregnant with my daughter and all through my pregnancy, in labor and postpartum as well as she receiving her first adjustment at 12 hours old after being born with torticollis.

All of these experiences led me to do advance training in prenatal and pediatric Chiropractic care as well as becoming certified to do Acupuncture in conjunction with Chiropractic adjustments. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Cleveland Chiropractic College in April 2016. Shortly thereafter I moved to Lawrence, KS and opened Harmony Chiropractic. This is the place that I have enjoyed meeting hundreds of new patient over the past five years, helping so many people reach health and wellness goals and become pain-free through non-invasive, non-pharmaceutical, holistic means. Chiropractic helps to optimize your body’s ability to heal itself by removing interference in the nervous system.
